The Energy Centre in Knivsta is taking form
In Knivsta thoughts about positioning the municipality as a place with a high profile when it comes to energy awareness and sustainable energy production. Two illustrating examples are the purchase of a wind turbine and the construction of Sweden’s first passive house school, according to the international standard. In 2015 the idea got further momentum when a private developer showed an early draft of a large complex with a energy centre in the top. Knivsta Energy Centre will be formed out of the cutting edge projects within energy and construction and the businesses that are established here. The project TrähusETT is a large step in the right direction.
TrähusETT – part of Energy Centre Knivsta
TrähusETT is planned to be inaugurated in the autumn of 2016, and will become the first building in the new Nydal development. It will give the municipality, developers as well as citizens the possibility to get acquainted to and learn about the solutions we want to see in Nydal. The building will house a show room where corporations can demonstrate and display their products. The solutions will be chosen in order to minimize the environmental impact from a life cycle perspective. The municipality hopes that the products displayed and used will have a positive influence on solutions in Nydal.[translation in progress, check back soon]
